CEO & CIO

Eugene Profis, MBA, CFA

Eugene Profis, is the CEO and Chief Investment Officer for the Black Diamond Global Equity, Global Enhanced Income and Distressed Opportunities Funds.

​

 

Eugene has investment experience since 2002. Prior to founding Black Diamond Asset Management Group, he was a Portfolio Manager on the Mackenzie Global Equity and Income team.  Before Mackenzie, Eugene was vice president at Burgundy Asset Management, where he co-managed a large-cap US fund.  

​

 

Eugene has an Honors Business Administration degree and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He is also a CFA Charterholder.

Advisor, Quantitative Strategies

Saleem Huda

Saleem Huda is an Advisor, Quantitative Strategies. 

 

Saleem made his first option trade using money from his part-time job at McDonald's in Pickering, Ontario at the age of 14.  

 

He graduated from MIT in 1995 studying Mathematics and specializing in enumerative combinatorics and probabilistic systems. He has engineered robust systems for risk management and managed both market-making and proprietary trading desks with Deutsche Bank NY, Credit Suisse, Fortress Investment Group, and Canada Pension Plan.

 

In addition to quantitative finance, Saleem has collaborated on innovative multidisciplinary work in biomedical technology where he uses mathematics to integrate ideas from top scientists and surgeons.  Saleem continues to collaborate with the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine and the Institute for Quantum Computing at University of Waterloo.

    Partner, Portfolio Manager

    Joseph T.M. Cianflone, M.Sci., CFA

    Joseph T.M. Cianflone is a Partner and a Portfolio Manager on the Black Diamond Global Equity, Global Enhanced Income and Distressed Opportunities Funds.

     

    Joe has investment experience dating back to 2004. Prior to founding Black Diamond Asset Management Group, he managed over $1bn in assets (equity, credit, and derivatives) as the Co-Manager of the Value Protection Fund at PSP Investments, before which he worked on PSP’s Value Opportunities Portfolio. Before joining PSP, Joe was the Head of Trading Research for Orbis Investment Management Limited in Bermuda.  

     

    Joe graduated with an M.Sci. in Financial Economics (Dean’s List) from the SaïdBusiness School, University of Oxford, after completing a joint-bachelors in Economics & Mathematics, cum laude with joint High Honors, at Harvard College. He is also a CFA Charterholder and a board member of numerous charity and community groups.

    Manjeet Ram

    Manjeet Ram is an Advisor, Quantitative Strategies.

    Manjeet was the Head of Electronic Trading at the CPP Investment Board where he successfully integrated science and technology with capital market expertise to drive process innovations in trade execution across all public market asset classes and portfolio management at various aggregation levels.

    ​

     

    He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2000 studying computer science. He implemented and executed many real-time alpha generating strategies using a variety of mathematical techniques at Deutsche Bank and Fortress Investment Group.

    ​

     

    Prior to his career in finance, Manjeet worked in research exploring various topics in cryptography and computer vision for commercial applications. He is also an accomplished software 

    engineer and his projects include equity trading systems and autonomous poker bots.
